Pennsylvania Bike TrailsVALLEY FORGE NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK

Situated in Upper Merion Township is Valley Forge where George Washington and the Continental Army spent the winter of 1777-78. The bucolic park, with its many historic locations, is also home to over 20 miles of biking trails that wind through hills and fields like the Joseph Plumb Martin Trail and Chapel Trail, which passes Washington Memorial Chapel. In addition to looping through the park, these trails also provide connections to other points in Montgomery and Chester Counties. Learn More »

SCHUYLKILL RIVER WEST TRAIL

A 2.2 mile extension of the Schuylkill River West Trail was formally opened November 5, 2015 at Heuser Park in Upper Merion Township. The dedicated bicycle and pedestrian trail connects to 15.5 miles of trails from Valley Forge National Historical Park to Manayunk. Learn More »

CHESTER VALLEY TRAIL

This scenic 14-mile trail from Exton to King of Prussia traverses Chester County into Montgomery County where it bridges I-76.  Plans to extend through the rest of King of Prussia and connect with the Schuylkill River Trail at Norristown will further enhance the comprehensive, rails-to-trails network in the area. THE CIRCUIT

A movement is underway to completely connect all the trails in Southeastern PA and South Jersey. Known as the Circuit, the group behind the effort is poised to raise $250 million in a plan to expand the existing trail network from 250 miles to 750 miles in an unbroken link of paths that will connect all points in the region by bike.  Learn More »

Sullivan’s bridge bicycle & pedestrian PROJECT

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has completed construction of a new four-span pedestrian/bicycle trail bridge over the Schuylkill River in Valley Forge National Historical Park (VFNHP). The trail bridge enhances bicycle and pedestrian travel and provides a safe, regional connection between the Schuylkill River Trail and the trail system within VFNHP.  The new bridge is a pre-stressed concrete structure that is 14 feet wide and 604 feet long.  Construction was completed August 19th, 2016.
